Aquabirths can draw on over 30 years of bath making experience to provide you with high quality pools at sensible prices. Aquabirths make bespoke and semi-bespoke baths to a high quality to fit your needs and your budget.

Elliptical Birth Baths

Currently, we have three models of elliptical bath - the Original Ellipse, the Venus and the Heartshape bath. With their pleasing curves these spacious pools provide a calm and roomy environment for a labouring woman. The Original fits end-on to a wall, the Venus fits sideways on to the wall or IPS panel and the Heart bath is a stand-alone model, though it can be adapted to fit against an IPS panel or wall.

The one-piece construction common to most Aquabirths pools makes them an easy bath to keep clean and hygienic. This design also makes it very straight-forward to install.

All Aquabirths baths have been designed from the plumbing upward. The birth pools is deisgned to incorporate a 'waterless straight through' trap to BS5572 for avoidance of standing water. Birth pools should be installed with a waterless trap for a better level of hygiene and odour control: leaving the valve closed is not enough.

Dunoon Birth Bath

Compact birth pool Aquabirths Where space is at a premium but there is to be no compromise on room for the labouring woman, then the Dunoon model is ideal.

Features: choice of bath colours; one-piece design; hatchways for easier maintenance; plug & chain waste. Also available - clip-on inner step/seat.

The image here shows the bath in a corner, it can be installed with just the tap end to the wall.

Dimensions 154cm long, 104cm wide and 79cm high (64cm internal) .

Derby Birth Pool

Compact birth pool Aquabirths The Derby was designed by midwives to include all the features they wanted in an ideal bath. It is a spacious bath within a compact design - and looks good too.

Features: choice of bath colours; one-piece design; hatchways for easier maintenance; internal corner step/seat, plug & chain waste or quarter turn ball valve waste; leaning ledges for comfort. Derby birth bath

Other models are available. It is also possible to take one of the above models and modify it for your needs.

Maternity Size Baths.

We also make an intermediate size of bath - smaller than birth pool and larger than domestic size. This is designed for bathing during labour and post-partum (LAPP) and where space does not allow a birth pool.

All baths can be supplied with antibacterial gel coat finish for added cleanliness and peace of mind.

All baths give the maximum amount of space for the labouring woman so that she is free to move and keep mobile during labour. The depth, the sloping sides and broad flat rim are all designed to allow a woman to comfortably adopt a number of postures during labour. The free-standing bath allows easy access for midwives and attendants.

We offer baths as ‘all-in-one’ construction with integrated side panels for ease of cleaning and installation. We also offer an installation service.

Installation

We offer an installation service. We use 'in-line' traps to enable quick and thorough emptying and to provide additional protection against smells and infections. We use quarter-turn ball valves for long service on the Ellipse and offer it for the Derby. The Dunoon uses plug and chain wastes.

All our pools are made in the UK. We can provide and install a pool for less than the cost the bath alone from other companies.

Just as a little note, we often refer to birthing pools as birthing baths because that is what they are to us. We make much larger theraputic pools and they are pools!
